Cesar Meireles Art
Cesar Meireles was born to Portuguese parents in Mozambique and spent his formative years in South Africa. Cesar moved to Ireland in the mid 90’s aged twenty-one. In 2008, Cesar settled near Gorey in County Wexford with his wife and three daughters, where he set up his art studio.
Cesar’s current collection of oil paintings is inspired by the rural Wexford countryside. It was his introduction to plein air painting that led to Cesar’s strong interest in landscapes as a subject matter. Cesar is self-taught and primarily paints directly onto canvas without any sketching or preparation.
